Hi Blog, Hi Faithful Readers...I can hear you breathing...

I haven't posted anything anywhere lately...I have been super busy with work aka.....The Shop, and listing stuff on feebay and etsy, and selling so that keeps me busy. And..........we're moving !
We have been cleaning out a basement apartment and I just gave my landlord notice, so it is really gonna happen! Moving is a pain! But the good news is...I get to do that Spring clean I was telling you about...oh wait I didn't ...... So, Basement apartment. It's a little over 300 square feet. tiny eh?
Well, with the shop I don't need much living space.
I love living in a weird space, and my apt overlooking the Tacoma Dome was swell, except for the rats living in the garden and the filthy people who drop their garbage all over, and the last flippin' straw was.
BRITNEY BITCH !!
There were 10,000 idling cars after BRITNEY BITCH and her concert (that lasted all of 45 minutes!!!) (I know...girls were returning to their cars at 10:46 pm !!)
So my apt overlooking the Tacoma Dome filled up with car exhaust and it was stinky as hell for 2 days. Not to mention my screaming f'n headache.
So I am ready to go. Every time there is a concert here, my apt. fills up with exhaust from all those people who drive to the Dome, because there is no public transportation.
No city bus. No Sounder. No Greyhound. nothing. nada. Must Drive SUV !!

My digs keep getting smaller and smaller. That's fine. In about 2 years Mark and I will blow this Pop Stand and do something else. Fuck, we might even move to Seattle!!
So I will update you on the cleaning the decorating and the special problems and solvings we must do to move in. Let's tag it: Something From Nothing.
There is a bathroom but no kitchen sink....yet. No counters. No storage. No stove. No w/d. No refrigerator. The ceilings are 15 feet tall though. It's an Art Project. An experiment in guerilla squatting in a space that did not cost 350,000 dollars. But we will have granite counters. It will be fun!
Here is a pic of my former home on N. 21st.

Happy Easter. Thanks for killing Jesus, and rolling away the stone. Yes, let's Live Again and be happy for Second Chances.

Best songs about Tacoma & Blogging & stuff

Love love this one about us....the lonely bloggers.....that Fewster is mad...and Heidi's songs touch me......and that child of his..Hannah.....what a big chip off the ol' block ........Artwalk night, Folksingers in Hell will be singing with us....

and I just wanted to mention that January's birthday is January 15th...she's 39. She's my first born. I love her more than I could ever tell you...no matter how many words I use....and aren't I a special mom, that I could arrange for a National Holiday just for her on her special special day??

here's a few vids....at the bottom.......
no intro needed for Neko...who used to dance with January for and with Girl Trouble...doesn't get much more Tacoma than that.......

not so much about Tacoma, but Fewster is Tacoma...

not about Tacoma, but named For Tacoma....and you never go wrong with a Leonard Cohen song....

So Just how BIG is Tacoma....well, I can hold it in my heart....

and because Jerry Miller lives here, and it's been toooo long since I got drunk and made him play this song, for me...Just For Me ! I mean, how many people met in SF in the late 60s/early 70s and then, independently moved to Tacoma??

And Chan Marshall doing a cover of my other fave Moby song.(moby GRAPE !)Naked If I Want To. I love this one soooo much because the lyrics really capture the times of my misspent youth, man....

Home Is Where The Cute Stuff Is.....

I spend too much time e-chatting with my ebay vintage clothing boardies.....but one needs community....I love chatting with my real life neighbors on Broadway....the Best, The Quirkiest block in Tacoma......tho 6th ave is catching up.....

One of my boardie pals is Holly aka Lucitebox.....If I win the lottery I'll spend half of it with her..she has fantabulous stuff......
My favorite vintage jacket is an amazing late 40s number in gray wool with millions of silver studs.....It's Joan Crawford meets Vivienne Westwood......
I bought if from Holly about 2 years ago.......
I get massive compliments when I wear it and I'm so thrilled to have bought it from someone I admire and like a lot......
So I was so thrilled to find out via DressADay that her stunningly cute apartment is featured now on Apartment Therapy.....
take a peek !

I'm about to start a new decorating project....paint first....then some new furniture.....oh Boy!! This is Good clean fun.....

rich people suck, or stupid people suck ...or something....

From a Vancouver CAN blog, The Commodified, a compiler of street fashion......
comes this disturbing post......
and informative too.

80s "fashion" is a joke. I hope you know that. It is funny to see it recycled!!
Those puffs. Those poofs. Those shoulders. That twinkle. That that stupidity!
So ......fashion does define you whether you know it or not.
If you're in Mall-purchased dark wash designer flare jeans and mid heel pointy toe flats with a little jacket.....hmm, you are playing it safe. OK.
If you are in sporty Nike polarfleece and running shoes when you are not on the track ! you are wanting to be fit and trim and maybe not quite making it. Dunno.
If you are dressed from hither and yon, in lace and leather (or vegan for you neo-hippie types) you are an arty type with an open attitude.
If you are dressed in the latest hipster fare: Short dress, bright colored tights, slouch boots, babydoll or shrunken little boy jacket, you are (hopefully) in your teens or 20s and are cool and probably share an apartment. Sweet.
