I Like Ike. But not the Military-Industrial Complex

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."

Dwight Eisenhower was the 34th President, from 1953 to 1961. He was a 5 star general in the Army during WWII. He knew a bit about war,  and the military complex. Right now the Blue Angels are flying over my house, and annoying the shit out of me. That they are having fun on the 4th of July, while people walk by my house, without proper housing, without proper food....without proper medical care, just infuriates me. And, yes, back in the old days, Republicans were worthy opponents....Not anymore. Republicans are assholes. President Eisenhower said during his last speech on his way out the door "In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."
