my other 2 favorite xmas/holidays songs are.....Elvis. The skinny Elvis.
I picked these 2 songs for my dad's jukebox business...we'd go to the record shop on Main Street, and buy 45's to stock the jukes he had all over Napa county. Every month we'd make the route to change out the records. That was back in the day when the categories were Rhythm and Blues, Country and Western, Popular Music, Gospel, Show Tunes, and Rock and Roll.
yeah. Good.




You put these 2 songs on the Hi-Fi, stick a martini in my hand and within 60 seconds you have a dancing crying mess on yr hands.
But it's worth it.





I just listed a new peacoat...a vintage pea coat, that is.

in no particular order...my top 5 fave xmas songs.....

I love the lyrics..."please come home for Christmas, if not for Christmas, by New Years night"
and any song that can and will rhyme "Salutations with friends and relations"....well wtf! that's literate.
because this holiday, where it is celebrated....is happy and so damn sad all at the same time....
it's the ridiculous mythology of family and I do think it's ALSO the rotten stinking weather...and until the Solstice, the literal darkest days of the year.

The version I really really love is on a compilation of Austin Rhythm and Blues Christmas songs...the best, and I mean the best comp of xmas songs evah! Angela Strelhi sings the most fantastic version of Please Come Home for Christmas....
Lou Ann Barton sings on it too. with some Thunderbirds...buy this album. Now. You will not regret it. Curiously I can't find any of the songs on youtube...but there's the link...

3 people that I've known for a long time ...one I've known for 26 years, one I've known for 15 years.....one I've known for 7 years.....have died.
all within the last 6 weeks.
My sadness is tiny compared to the grief of their families.

Shorter pants......not everyone can pull that off....but there's a lot of goodness there...simple classic lines and some effort in good grooming......all guys can do that much.

These early 60s Levis hopsack pants have the skinny legs and tapered hemlines. Hopsack is a rather thickly woven fabric sorta like a nice domesticated burlap, but soft.
Shorter length...nice.

Another style that Levi's has remade...... Original 1970s, another sleek style for men.

And finally, put on a real shirt with a real collar and hey...A tie!
whether you choose skinny or wide...Just tie one on & be adult about it.
