It's getting spooky in Here......

Havin' a ball Y'all......making some spooky things.
Who has old teeth laying around? I do.
I'm enamoured of cameos....so the oval frame, and with the teeth ..comes a little morbid anatomy...a little taxidermy....gothic Jewelry.
a silver-washed adjustable ring I added an oval black lace cameo, and a ceramic tooth...a fake tooth, from a dental supply.
Effective....
Spooky Halloween Tooth Ring with black Cameo Lace

I adore this quality ring...I searched high and low for a lovely thing....I love the baroque designs all around the ring....
and unlike most other adjustable metal rings, this one hides the adjusting area....
and no pinch!
It can adjust from a size 5.5 to about a 10.5.

what else has thatyountvillegirl been crafting?.....
Creeepy !

Circled with a black lace ruffle, the witch fabric pin is great for an October accessory.
Handmade from silly fabric, this witch is wearing her skinny black pointy shoes.
She balances on her broom.... She's So Fly !

Victorian anatomy pin is a perfect accessory for the morgue.
Handmade pin is made from printed cotton fabric in black with bright yellow bones. It is topped with a black and white satin ribbon bow....and ends with swinging fringe. A cute skeleton fancy yet primitive pin to wear this time of year.

Spooky. Creepy. All together ooky...

a Mary Poppins moment--WWMW

Mary Poppins is an acid trip...flying thru the air, feeding children hallucinogenic drugs, and jumping into chalk pictures with bizarre friends.

my ostrich feather duster is so very edwardian in feeling...it made a cameo appearance in the last set of 24 listings for my etsy shop.
let's start with the black...WWMW...What Would Mary Wear?

Fresh Funkomavintage......

The latest and greatest !
Classic wiggle black lace Little Black Dress....

Fitted 60s style....with a wiggle pencil skirt....
this is very old lady chic...and steampunk too.
It's a classic style that's sexy and pretty covered up...which is the very definition of grandma chic....Add a big rhinestone pin to the ruffle collar or wear tons of long pearls and crucifixi...

I'd wear it with brown leather shoes and a beat up vintage military jacket...for a bit of Amelia feelin'...

Pretty vintage big floral 60s blouse...
I love the blue and green prints of the early 60s...I've read they are based on stained glass windows of European churches...

Wow! Long fitted psychedelic party dress....I'd wear this almost everyday in the summer...the colors are so damn fantastic!

I love this one too! Oh so pretty...sheer voile has lavender flowers, with brown branches and green leaves. It's 3 big tiers lined in a satin fabric, with an elastic waist and around the top. The lining stops at the thighs...so it's a real mini!!
(or wear leggings underneath or a half slip)

and another in my favorite color....Purple velvet...in an easy to wear bolero length...this will be a go-to jacket for so many things...I show it open and closed with a big pin for another look....

A Couple and their accessories...

Sometimes a sweater is what I want and then there are times.......
a trim little jacket is it...

Start with a basic navy jacket, a 70s wool blend...because the quality is fabulous, and the dominant style was cropped, nipped waist, and pockets !
yes, these are both listed in my etsy shop.

A cropped style is great on almost all bodies....it doesn't hug the butt like a longer jacket might, or gap over the butt, or cut you off at an unflattering line.....a jacket will only be your new best friend if it fits right.....
this style just skims the hip bones and has panache!

A pearly necklace, a few pearly necklaces would be fab too......a perfect basic to play with....the steampunk queen of romance is only one way to style this.....but it's my favorite.
so I paired it with a white lace dress...which is so sweet
(get out your wedding dress and wear it! kidding.) to start with...

Then I tucked a white millinery rose in the hanky pocket...along with some pink netting from an old hat ....and hung a pair of 50s vintage pink gloves from one pocket.

These brassy buttons have Crowns, and Elephants and Dinosaurs embossed on them....(look!)

Here it is in its plainness........so many things to do! A plaid skirt would look nifty with a white lace blouse...or a print skirt for a feminine look.
Pair it with stripes for even more steampunk Victoriana ...

.........................................................................................................................
And another look from a simple navy jacket....also a 70s one but this one has puffy sleeves. Beware! if you are over 40, it might be too juvenile...or not.

This style is more hunting jacket and the front has nifty pointy hems and I really love the tiny buttons.
I tucked a knit lace doily in the hanky pocket here, and pinned a huge vintage red velvet chrysanthemum on a lower pocket.
For a schoolmarm in the wild west I added an Indian blanket vest. (a rhyme!)
This look would be smashing with a golden brown suede or velvet skirt or dark grey leggings and chunky boots....

It starts with a simple jacket....and the romance, the style, that gives it a fairytale aura is all in the details....
A trim navy jacket is more polished and formal than a sweater...
more "lunch in a fancy restaurant jacket", instead of "brunch on late Sunday with a hangover sweater".
