Hip....Cool....Bon !!! Von !!! Wheelie !!! and January !!!!

I never get tired of mentioning my fabulous children and grandchildren...and Mark of course.....and in this month's issue of Tacoma City Arts is an article about What It Is...... & that is Girl Trouble.....who kicks it old school because they are old school...
It's not easy being cheesy....and knowing the difference between hip and cool, and why that might matter..........
So Bon Von Wheelie......she doesn't know how much I admire her....I didn't get to do (yet) so many things I want to do with my very short life, but I did get to raise the Worlds Best Children........
January was the first....and she really let me know that I had better get up pretty early in the morning to get the jump on her....now January is a mommy...oh Time really is the Best Revenge!!
Thank you City Arts, Emily White, Bon and her boys....and January for being.
too many days it's the words of Mrs. Parker "Oh What fresh hell is this"....but today I feel fine......

There is a reason I keep Girl Trouble right up there on my Myspace page next to 2 of my 3 kids......I'm all about old school Tacoma...there was nothing wrong with Tacoma before, and I don't think it's much improved in the last quarter century...it is a bit cleaner thanks to the EPA, and lower Pacific in dt is permanently fucked up...but I survive....in my rumpled digs on Broadway Baby.......making the day prettier and funkier and well dressed and well accessorized....

Here is a bit from a movie about Dorothy Parker....and then a few of her sayings...she knew what life was is and could...

and then a tribute to the passing of Blossom Dearie...and a most endearing and painfully truthful song about the self-conscious hipster...........

Saddened to learn of the recent death of Blossom Dearie...one of my favorite little jazz singers who was hip and cool because she just did what she wanted to do....which is to sing and sing and sing.........
Blossom... was a delight...and I felt happy just knowing she was on the planet......

one more from Mrs Parker....Bed...my favorite place to be...guess where I am typing this? from my bed in Tacoma.
