Hey, our friend came by for a visit and he brought a gal who writes for Exit133 ! Now he owes me Big Time ! I use far too many exclamation points !
I need to know more about the Train crossing at Pacific. It's all so confusing....but I feel better now. I will say this: I don't relish the idea of Big Heavy Trains crossing Pacific and moving thru town to S.Tac and on to Lakehood, er Lakewood. I don't want to see businesses torn down either. We do need a long long term solution. And I have the feeling that Sound Transit is waaaaaaay Too Big For Its Pants.....

And part of the reason is that John Ladenburg is the Fearful Leader........is he a stinker ??........

.... he held stock in Prometa company Hythiam......from the Tacoma News Tribune...
Stansbury is County Executive John Ladenburg’s executive assistant. Ladenburg held about $900 in stock in Hythiam last spring when he was seeking public funding for Prometa, but has recently sold his shares.

So, J. Ladenburg appears to be a double-dipper eh? Is that Legal ? Is that Ethical ? .....I'll just go check for his Bar license.

The alliance’s executive director, Terree Schmidt-Whelan, told the committee, “We clearly heard the vote” Tuesday, and that her group will not be seeking more money for Prometa until such evidence is produced.......
But the chairman of the alliance’s board, Tom Leander, defended Schmidt-Whelan, saying “there’s nothing wrong with owning stock.” He also said later the board was aware of the details of the contract. Leander also told the committee he was concerned that the 18-percent drop in Hythiam’s stock price after the audit was reported Wednesday morning in The News Tribune could make it harder for people to have access to Prometa.
Yeah, so maybe more people in positions of power and influence are doing what????
And what was I just saying this morning about corporations/unethical/law-breaking/drug sales ......
and it's even more upsetting when we know---

Now this really torks me off ........Here we are getting all crabby about "Drug Addicts in Downtown Tacoma!" and here we have some taxpayer $$ to help these poor people get of f the drugs and get some help and become healthy.....
and then we find out that not only does this drug-treatment drug NOT WORK, but it was being sold to Taxpayers by a Politician/Lawyer/Board Chair of Sound Transit at the same time he HELD STOCK in the company ????
It's enough to make one cynical..........and gives Government-Haters some grist for their mill..........Government ain't the problem....it's unethical people that are the problem!
